I've officially decided on a launch date for my new podcast. I'm working on writing and recording several episodes to get a jump on a weekly broadcast. This is a kind of discipline that I've traditionally had a tough time sticking with in the past. So I'm working ahead to see if it takes some of the pressure off. Hopefully it works, and I'm looking forward to finding my "podcast voice" and inviting some other voices into the mix as I get going and gain some momentum.
You can listen to my podcast trailer at https://anchor.fm/mymartialartsncrafts and join me on October 27th for my first episode where I'll talk about Courage. When I was thinking about setting myself a launch date goal, I wanted to pick a meaningful date to start. October is a crazy month for my family. We have several karate events, three birthdays and Halloween. This year, we are also trying to fit in a trip up north and a half-birthday for the kid whose birthday party was a no-go because of coronavirus lock downs. So even though it feels just a little bit (or a lot) insane to launch a podcast on October 27th, I chose this date because it will be the two year anniversary of my first karate belt graduation as an adult student. October 27, 2018 was when I earned my gold belt. I had a cold. I was nervous to perform in front of my class, instructors and everyone, and when I got my belt, I was so proud, and totally hooked on this martial arts business. So, October 27th it is. I hope that you'll join me and stick with me on this journey. Find me on Instagram and Facebook @mymartialartsncrafts and join our Facebook group to talk about creativity, connection, healthy habits, the podcast, or whatever else you want to share.

The kids officially start school next week. They will be schooled virtually via the local public schools, and we are nervously anticipating what that's going to look like. The podcast idea has re-emerged as an option for my days now that my summer job has ended and I'm trying to figure out what I can do to add value in my way.
First few episodes will be raw, so stick with me. I plan to launch in October. I have no idea what the world will look like, then, but I'm sick and tired of waiting around to see what everyone else is doing. I'm going to do my thing. I plan to talk about my martial arts training, personal and spiritual matters, art, crafts, family, virtual school, in-person activities, choices, communication, and whatever else comes up that might be worth discussing. My kids are growing up and have a lot of interesting insights of their own, so expect a few conversations with the next generation, too. I hope to make an impact. We'll see where it goes and what I can learn along the way. |
