The intention of this episode was to talk about more of the physical aspects of the martial arts. I ended up talking less about the punching, kicking, forms, sparring and self defense moves and training than the life circumstances that brought us to Martial Arts and the different ways that we have grown since my oldest son started his own journey. Martial arts is a vehicle for learning big life skills like awareness, courage, discipline, respect, integrity. These are skills for everyone. Kids and adults alike. Martial arts training moves the body in order to develop the soul.
The challenge this time is to find the thing that develops your soul. Maybe it's not martial arts for you like it is for me. But find and recognize that "thing" for you. What lights you up? What makes you stronger? What pushes you to want to become a better version of yourself? Find it. Then do more of it. I mentioned a few books in the episode. Here are the links if you're interested.
